Launching a cybersecurity platform by showing its emotional impact
Trend Micro was preparing to unveil Trend Micro One, its new unified cybersecurity platform.
The task wasn’t to explain the technology; a separate explainer was already planned.
This video needed to do something more immediate and more emotional:
Show what Trend Micro One feels like for the people who need it most.

It had to be:
- short (30–60 seconds),
- social-ready,
- platform-adaptable (with 6s bumpers, vertical cuts, and a hero banner),
- and globally relevant.
The creative challenge:
Capture the chaos of a CISO’s life… and reveal why she’s still smiling.
The Challenge: Convey real cybersecurity pain in seconds
CISOs operate under constant pressure. Every department in the organization, from engineering to OT to the board, depends on them during moments of crisis.
The concept needed to:
- portray their real, high-speed problems
- accurately reflect the complexity of modern cyber environments
- overwhelm the viewer just enough to feel the pressure
- and then flip it with a moment of calm, confidence, and control
Trend Micro wanted CISOs to feel recognized — not lectured to, not marketed to.
The emotional truth had to come first.

Collaborative Creative Development
We spent weeks ideating with Trend Micro’s brand and marketing teams, exploring metaphors, characters, pacing, and formats.
Through these sessions we aligned on the strongest narrative device:
A day in the life of a CISO, told at hyperspeed.

We designed a fast, high-pressure “day in the life” that compresses the CISO’s real-world pain points into rapid-fire interactions.
Nonstop DevOps demands, SecOps alert overload, OT modernization complexity, and last-minute executive pressure.

The twist is that while everyone around her is stressed and speaking too fast, the CISO remains completely relaxed.
When asked if she can present full visibility and risk posture to the board the next morning, she simply replies:
Sure. No problem.

The reason why becomes the emotional closing message:
Be Confident with Trend Micro One.
Production: Filmed in Poland, cast internationally
Filmed in early 2022 in Poland, the project combined local production with an international cast flown in from across Europe, alongside returning actors Trend Micro already knew.
The directing style leaned into speed, overlapping dialogue, and escalating pressure, contrasted by a calm CISO at the center of the storm.

Execution: One core film, many versions
From the main 30–60 second launch video, we delivered a full asset ecosystem:
- 6-second YouTube bumper ads
- Square and vertical social versions
- Short CTA-tailored variants
- Hero banner video cut for TrendMicro.com
Outcome: A launch film that reflects the real CISO experience
The video resonated internally and externally by reflecting cybersecurity reality instead of glossing over it.
Trend Micro praised the authenticity and emotional clarity of the message, and the project strengthened our ongoing collaboration.

Takeaways: Show the feeling, not the features
Trend Micro One could have been introduced through diagrams, dashboards, or technical claims.
Instead, we chose to communicate its value through the emotional transformation it creates:
- from overwhelmed → in control
- from stressed → calm
- from chaotic → confident
Because CISOs don’t need more explanations. They need to feel understood.
